Health Care Assistants.
- The Care Assistant works with the nurse as a member of the team. The role of the care assistant and that of the nurse are inexorably intertwined
- The Care Assistant is a valued member of the care team in the nursing home or healthcare facility
- The Care Assistant aspires to becoming proficient in understanding and putting into practice the ‘activities of living’ a model of care devised by nurses for nurses and used in this Course as an essential care framework for the aspiring trainee Care Assistant
- The Care Assistant is responsible in law for her or his actions
- The goal of this course is for the student Care Assistant to meet the self-care requisites of the resident
- Residents in nursing homes require care when they are unable to cope with self-care deficits occasioned by some health related or social related problem
In order to achieve the above, the Foundation Care Assistant Course will consider how care assistants help residents in nursing homes or in a care facility such as the Day Care Centre.
Daybreak School has devised three Caring Systems in which we will understand and discuss in detail.
