Next Health Care Assistant Course at Daybreak School
The Health Care Assistant Course begins on Saturday 16th June 2012 at Daybreak School, 36 Parnell Square West, Dublin 1. The aims of this course are to lay the foundations for working as a Health Care Assistant. The requirements are that the student becomes a safe and knowledgeable practitioner and achieves this by taking this eight week course in care assistant work. Consequently the student will become familiar with health and safety requirements prior to working as a member of the health care team.The Foundation Healt Care Assistant Course INCLUDES the FETAC Programme 'Care of the Older Person' CODE No. D20180 Award. This new Course begins 16th June 2012. This means that during this course emphasis will be on training in personal safety, that is the student will undergo the People Moving and Handling Course. This course is given by Daybreak School whose instructor in People Moving and Handling is recognized at FETAC level 6 and is the recognized standard required in the healthcare industry at this time. Also, training will be given in the provision of care for nursing home residents and information and care procedures for such residents who have conditions like Dementia, Parkinson's disease, diabetes and other disabling conditions. Training will be given at Daybreak in cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) from the Irish Heart Foundation's approved courses. Daybreak School at 36 Parnell Square West is a REGISTERED TRAINING SITE, by the Irish Heart Foundation. Students will study online as well as in the classroom the FETAC approved modules Level 5 of Care of the Older Person. They will do this through the CLE (Combined Learning Environment) using the e-learning website specific to and for Daybreak School Students. Instruction will be given in the use of computer technology to participate online and in using Daybreak School's online social network for student carers.
